How To Use QuickSync With A Dedicated Graphics Card

One of the big features of the new Intel Sandy Bridge processors has been their updated graphics engine that is built into the processors. The new Intel HD Graphics may still not be quite suitable for 3D gaming, but they offer a QuickSync feature that greatly accelerates video transcoding functions. The problem was that first chipsets to support the new processor from Intel did not allow the use of both the integrated graphics processor and a discrete graphics card. This was a major problem for anyone who wanted to use dedicated graphics cards for gaming, multiple monitors or high resolution displays but still want to use the QuickSync functions. Intel has finally addressed this with their new Z68 Chipset that can use Lucidlogix's Virtu GPU virtualization software. Find out more about how this combination is setup, works and if it is something to consider in your next PC.
